Spending the holidays in the studio is nothing new for New Jersey/Philadelphia rockers DIVE. The winter of 2009, however, was different. Perhaps it was working with multi-platinum producer Jim Wirt (Incubus, Hoobastank, Live, No Doubt). Or maybe it was recording at the legendary 4th Street Recording Studios in Santa Monica, California, where the BEach Boys' melodies still linger in the place that gave birth to their sound decades earlier. Regardless of the inspirational source, DIVE returned home bearing the finest Christmas gift of all: an album of its most accomplished music to date along with the excitement for what 2010 will hold.
DIVE is a group comprised of the singer/songwriter Jon Sitar, guitarist Jeff Moczydlowski and Evan Canova, bassist Mike Morgan and drummer Zhach Kelsch. The band takes great pride in its performances, routinely delivering a tight and energetic live show. This energy is on full display on the band's debut album entitled "Picture Perfect", which is set to be released in mid-May by Phase One/MadRock Records. The new album marks the band's first on the New York based label. DIVE has already built a devoted fan base thanks to the support of 93.3 WMMR (Philadelphia), the first radio station to feature DIVE in full-rotation, and by sharing the stage with international acts such as Three Days Grace, Hinder, Eve 6, Filter, SafteySuit, Halestorm, The Ataris, Rev Theory, Silvertide, TRUSTcompany, Days of the new, RED, Duff McKagan's Loaded and Sum 41.
As they kick the sand off their Converses, the guys now prepare to deliver their unique brand of aggressive/melodic rock to a mainstream audience across the country. So keep an eye on DIVE as they head out on the road to promote their new releases in your city.
